CURRENT HOMEWORK: DUE FRIDAY 11th of APRIL

CURRENT HOMEWORK: DUE FRIDAY 4th of APRIL
Theme: POPCORN
This week the homework will focus on what happens at night. Homework and Spelling is due in on Friday 7th April.

Pop some popcorn at home. Put the popcorn in groups of ten. How many groups did they make? Count the seeds that did not pop. How many are there? Put the information into a table.

Have your child write or dictate a description of what popcorn looks like for someone who has never seen it.

Use your popcorn to make a picture. You may add any other things to the picture (paint, crayons, things from nature, etc.).

IDEAS FOR LEARNING AT HOME
Sounds Book
* Your child should practice each of the sounds in the book every day, accompanied by the action. Initially, this can be done together and then let your child try on their own.
  • Words can be written beside a sound as your child thinks of words that begin with that sound.
  • Please remember to always refer to the sound first as opposed to the name of the letter eg. ‘Sssssssssss’ is the sound a letter 's' can make.

The link below is another fun way for your child to learn the sounds of letters and how to make little words using these sounds.
